Events > AGM and Fellows Evening 2012

The BCS AGM will be held this year in conjunction with a Fellow’s evening on Wednesday 31st October at the RAF Club in London.

We are pleased to announce that as part of the evening, Steven Feldman from KnowWhere Consulting will give a talk entitled ‘A brief history of web mapping’.

The talk will be followed by supper for those interested in staying on and details of the timing and various options for attendance are outlined below.
  • 17:00 – 18:00 British Cartographic Society AGM
  • 18:00 – 18:30 Drinks Reception (2 glasses of wine per person)
  • 18:30 – 19:30 Guest Speaker Steven Feldman – “A brief history of web mapping”
  • 19:30 – 20:00 Cash bar while room is reconfigured for dinner
  • 20:00 – 21:30 Dinner
The AGM is for BCS members only and there is obviously no charge for this element of the evening; the remaining elements of the evening are being opened to a wider audience with first preference being given to BCS Fellows and Members.

Dinner Menu
Baked Goats Cheese (Encased in pistachio nuts* with pear salad and quince jelly)
Vol au Vent Princess (A chicken*, mushroom and asparagus pastry bound with a supreme sauce with French beans and new potatoes)
Crème Brulee
Coffee and Petit Fours
* For those with a nut allergy there will be an alternative starter and there will also be a vegetarian main course option – please indicate with your booking if you require either of these.

Please note that registration or payment is required for all events so that you may obtain entry into the RAF Club, and also a normal dress code applies. Normal dress is interpreted as a suit or jacket with smart trousers (not Jeans), a collared shirt with tie and appropriate footwear. Normal Dress excludes all sporting wear, including track suits, trainers, sneakers, jeans and other overly casual clothes.

Please either register (AGM only) or book and pay (in which registration is automatic) by following these instructions:

  • Select the appropriate item from the dropdown list "Talk only" or "Talk plus Dinner", with the correct membership level.
  • Add in your membership number for fellows or members rates options, or leave blank for non-members
  • Complete your contact details and payment
  • The BCS Administrator will contact you to confirm your transaction.
