Job Vacancies > Defence Geographic Centre (DGC), MOD - GEOSPATIAL ANALYSTS



Providing maps and geographic information to our armed forces is no easy task; they can deploy anywhere in the world with only a few hours notice. The DGC provides this essential service to UK Defence, plus support to ongoing operations by combining its global information collection activities with cutting edge technology and high calibre staff.

We are seeking self-motivated and enthusiastic people to join our team. If you have an interest in geography, cartography, mapping, imagery, research, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) then the DGC is able to provide you with a challenging and rewarding career.

You will need:
  • 2 academic A levels at Grade E or above, or equivalent Level 3 qualification (one A level must be in a relevant subject e.g. Geography, Cartography, GIS, Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Surveying or Geodesy)
  • plus 3 GCSE passes at Grade C or above or equivalent including English Language, Geography and Mathematics.
  • Practised IT skills are essential
  • and a language is also desirable.
