Curator of Modern Mapping
Salary range £37,937 - £44,059 per annum
London, St Pancras

The Curator of Modern Mapping is responsible for the acquisitioning, processing and cataloguing of the largest part of the British Library’s 4.5 million cartographic collection, including the largest legacy collection of southern Asian mapping from the India Office and donations of non-British mapping from the Ministry of Defence.

Educated to degree level in history, geography or an equivalent subject, you will have knowledge of military/topographical mapping; cataloguing experience using AACR2 for maps, Marc 21 and/or RDA; and experience in a research library, military library, academic or other appropriate environment. You will also have a working knowledge of at least one major foreign language; a high level of time management skills; and proven leadership and people management skills.
