DK Travel and Rough Guides - Senior Cartographic Editor (maternity cover)
12 month contract

DK Travel and Rough Guides are currently seeking a Senior Cartographic Editor to cover a maternity leave in their London based office. You would be working as part of a team in the Cartography department of a successful Travel Guide department, reporting to the Creative Operations Manager.

Key responsibilities include:
• Drawing and editing maps to a high level of detail and accuracy.
• Overseeing the work of the Delhi team of cartographers.
• Liaising with the editorial, design and production staff.
• Monitoring the progress of jobs in terms of production schedules and working to deadlines.

Essential criteria:
• Excellent knowledge and skills in Adobe Illustrator CS6.
• Good attention to detail, able to provide accurate, efficient and honest quality checking for own work and others.
• Good knowledge and skills in Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Office and/or Google Docs.
• Genuine enthusiasm for mapping.
• Degree in Cartography and/or Geography, a strong advantage.
• Preferable experience working as part of a Cartographic team or at other Travel Guide companies.
