The John C. Bartholomew Award for Small Scale Mapping
This award is presented for originality and excellence in the field of thematic (non-topographic, 1:100,000 and smaller) cartography with emphasis on effective communication of the intended theme or themes. The award comprises a trophy and a certificate and is being run by The British Cartographic Society with the support of Collins Bartholomew.

The John C. Bartholomew Award is sponsored by Collins Bartholomew, and John joined the other representatives in 2007 to judge the award.

Unfortunately, not enough entries qualified for this award under the rules of non-topographic and 1:100,000 and smaller scale, and so, regrettably, no award will be given this year.
The awards committee and Collins Bartholomew are committed to promoting this award more concisely for the 2008 awards. So look out for news in Maplines over the next year
