The Stanfords Award for Printed Mapping
This award is open to any mapping in the printed form, whether it be a poster, folded sheet map, atlas or page from a book etc. The award comprises a trophy and a certificate and is being run by The British Cartographic Society with the support of Stanfords Map Shop.

The Avenza Award for Electronic Mapping
This award is open to any mapping available in electronic format, whether it is interactive internet mapping, internal company use GIS mapping or maybe a Powerpoint presentation. The award comprises a trophy and a certificate and is being run by The British Cartographic Society with the support of Avenza.

The John C. Bartholomew Award for Small Scale Mapping
This award is presented for originality and excellence in the field of thematic (non-topographic, 1:100,000 and smaller) cartography with emphasis on effective communication of the intended theme or themes. The award comprises a trophy, £500 prize and a certificate and is being run by The British Cartographic Society with the support of Collins Bartholomew and the Bartholomews family.

The Ordnance Survey MasterMap Award for 'Better Mapping'
This award is to encourage innovative and stimulating map products derived from, and composed mainly of, Ordnance Survey's MasterMap data. The award comprises a trophy and a certificate and is being run by The British Cartographic Society with the support of Ordnance Survey.

STUDENT AWARDS

The National Geographic Society Award for New Mapmakers
This award is open to those people who have been engaged in the preparation of maps for up to two years, including college students and new employees in commercial firms or government. Mapping can utilise Cartography, Geomatics, and/or GIS. The award comprises a prize, certificate and the BCS will pay for one years membership to the society. The award is being run by The British Cartographic Society with the support of The National Geographic Society.
Closing date 31st July 2010

The UKHO Junior Mapmaker Award 2010
This award is run every other year and is to encourage the creative representation, by children aged 7-16, of their environment in graphic form.
The award comprises a £50 prize and certificate for each age group. The award is being run by The British Cartographic Society with the support of UKHO.
Closing date 23rd July 2010.
