  This is a new society formed from a merger between the Remote Sensing Society and the Photogrammetric Society.

Digital resources

• Multi-Agency Geographic Information for the Countryside. A one-stop shop for rural and countryside information
• Nigel James maintains a page of Web sources for free downloadable GIS data.
• The GI gateway (previously ask giraffe) A locator for various sets of geographical data. It is also possible to download MetaGenie, a metadata creation tool, from the site.
• There are a number of projects which involve the digitisation of paper maps taking place. A list of such projects is being compiled by Anne Taylor at the instigation of BRICMICS. Information on projects that should be added to the list is very welcome.

Dealing with Digital Data

• There is a lot of useful information on the website for the Technical Advisory Service for Images, a service that gives advice on digitisation issues to the higher education community.

Geodetic Tools

• This site includes a guide to coordinate systems in Great Britain
