Dr Kenneth Field is Principal Lecturer in GIS at Kingston University London and Editor of The Cartographic Journal. He graduated from Oxford Polytechnic in 1991 with a degree in cartography and geography and has a PhD in GIS from the University of Leicester. His teaching and research interests are in digital mapping and geovisualisation.
He has published widely and presented at international conferences on a range of mapping and GIS topics. Ken has been a member of BCS since 1993 and a Fellow since 1997. He is also a practising cartographer and prepares small scale thematic maps for research consultancies. As well as BCS activities, Ken was a co-founder of The Journal of Maps and remains Treasurer and Map Editor.
