The official journal of The British Cartographic Society, circulating FREE to members and on subscription to others in more than 50 countries.
An established journal of record and comment containing authoritative articles and international papers on all aspects of cartography, the science and technology of presenting, communicating and analysing spatial relationships by means of maps and other geographical representations of the Earth's surface. This includes coverage of related technologies where appropriate, for example, remote sensing, geographical information systems (GIS), the internet and global positioning systems.

The Henry Johns Award
Authors published in The Cartographic Journal will also automatically be put forward for The Henry Johns Award for the Best Cartographic Journal Article.
This award is presented to the author of the best Cartographic Journal article each year. The winner is selected by the Journal Editor, the Editorial Board and the President of the BCS. The award is being run by The British Cartographic Society with the support of Lovell Johns. The award comprises a cash prize, certificate and publicity in BCS publications and on the BCS website.
Online Submissions
Articles can be submitted through the Online Manuscript Submission, Tracking and Peer Review System. Contributors have the benefit of being able to upload papers direct to the journal by registering at The Cartographic Journal Online. Please view the Notes for Contributors for further information.
