Cartography Instructional Officer (IO)

Royal School of Military Survey, Hermitage, Berkshire.

The Cartography IO is responsible for the effective delivery of Cartography and GID training as directed to the MSc and FDSc Courses.

The Cartography IO is to be a specialist within the Cartography discipline with the following qualifications:
Essential: Degree or equivalent in Cartography and or GIS. Minimum of 5 years experience in Cartography and or GIS.
Main Responsibilities:
The Cartography IO RSMS is responsible to the Cartography Burnham Lecturer for:
a. Lecturing and teaching post graduate and technical training courses in Defence Cartographic and GID topics.
b. Providing support as a Defence SME in Cartography and GID related subjects.
c. Maintaining technical proficiency through mentoring of commercial development and emerging operational requirements.
d. Ensuring Cartographic and GID related technical and educational material is provided for student learning.
e. Providing appropriate assessment for cartographic and GID related topics.
f. Maintaining professional links with appropriate institutions, academic and/or military organisations and industry.
g. Present demonstrations and briefs to visitors.

Salary £18,385 – £26,626
