MAP CATALOGUING TRAINING EVENT*
The Map Curators' Group of the British Cartographic Society is pleased to announce its next training event* for map librarians, curators, archivists, cataloguers and all those charged with caring for or cataloguing cartographic materials.
Map Cataloguing for the Terrified* - Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th April 2009 - University of Liverpool
Cost of the course is £95 for BCS members and £115 for non-members. The fee includes a copy of the book Maps and related cartographic materials : cataloging, classification, and bibliographic control Editors: Paige G. Andrew, Mary Lynette Larsgaard.
The course will run from 13.00 Thursday til 13.00 Friday. Arrangements for supper on the Thursday will be available at delegates' expense. A block of rooms at a convenient hotel is being held for delegates.
Course tutors include April Carlucci (Kings College Library, and formerly Cataloguing Manager, British Library Map Collections), Debbie Hall (Map Cataloguer, Bodleian Library, Oxford University), Rose Mitchell (Map Archivist, The National Archives) and Paula Williams (Map Cataloguer, National Library of Scotland Map Library).
