For the first time the Symposium included a FREE to attend workshop for secondary school students on mapping disasters. This is part of the BCS outreach programme to schools and was kindly sponsored by ESRI UK, a world leader in GIS technologies and Global Mapping.
Restless Earth is a preconference workshop for year 10 students from local schools, demonstrating how maps are an essential part of our daily lives.
Two sessions will allow over 30 students to attend a practical workshop on mapping natural disasters.
