The competition is run by The British Cartographic Society with the support of The United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO). The awards will be given every two years and comprise a cheque for £50 and certificate for the overall winner in each of four age groups ranging from 7-16 years

The four age categories are:

Ortelius: 11-14 years

The theme this year was ‘A Great Day by the Water’

A Great Day by the Water - Barmouth, Wales
The Judges considered this to be a highly detailed and particularly neat piece of work of part of the coast known to Timothy. The inclusion of a quotation summed up his day. It was felt that this young man could have quite a future if he chooses cartography as a career.
