About the Job
Arcus is seeking a GIS Technician to join its expanding GIS team based in their Glasgow office. The job will involve providing GIS support to a wide range of projects in the renewable energy sector including site finding, constraints mapping and onshore and offshore EIA work.
The ideal candidate for this role would have the following qualities:
Hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Geographical Information Systems, Geomatics, Geography or any other relevant subject with a strong GIS or cartographic element.
Be proficient in the use of the ESRI Arc suite of software (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, Spatial Analyst).
Have a good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop as well as an ability to work with the Microsoft Office product range.
A strong attention to detail with a high degree of literacy, accuracy and initiative.
An ability to work to tight deadlines and to work effectively as part of a team.
A knowledge of the EIA process, the renewable energy sector or planning would be a distinct advantage.
