Content: Circa 12,000 items. All current O.S. maps of Bucks. at scales 1:50,000 and larger. OS 1:10,560 1st ed. (1880), 2nd ed. (1900), and Provisional ed. (1960); 1:2,500 (1925), and 1:25,000 (1960) for Buckinghamshire. Also Geological Survey, land utilisation and agricultural land classification maps for the county. MSS maps including estate maps, enclosure and tithe maps, other official maps and plans (footpaths, railways, etc.). Older editions of OS 1:10,560, 1:2,500 and 1:500 for Buckinghamshire.

A few military maps and early American maps are included with private manuscript collections.

Publications include Catalogue of Maps (Occ. Publ. 3, 1961) (out of print).

Aerial photographs (various) - small number from 1920s, mostly 1940s-1970s.

Special collections include printed maps of countries and regions in France, Germany, Austria, Italy, the Low Countries, South America and the Caribbean (Circa 1680-1835, 60 items in all).

Air photographs of County of Huntingdon and Soke of Peterborough (1945-71).

OS archaeological record cards for County of Huntingdon and Peterborough (1970s).

Content: Circa 5,000 OS maps and plans (all scales), and 2,400 others mainly concerning old Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely. Estate, enclosure, tithe and land drainage maps, plans of proposed public utilities, etc., l7th-20th centuries.
Special collections include BEDFORD LEVEL CORPORATION (land drainage maps, 1604-1928), six coloured navigational charts of the East Indies, Indo-China and the Persian Gulf (1693-1701), and MAPS OF THARP PLANTATIONS IN JAMAICA (17th and 18th centuries).

Access to on-line catalogue and hand lists of inclosure and tithe maps available on the website.

Large scale town plans at 1:1,056, 1:528 or 1:500 including Stockport, Nantwich, Chester, Congleton, Crewe, Macclesfield, Northwich, Runcorn, Warrington and Widnes. Photographic copies of the local 2-inch surveyors' drawings on which the 1:63,360 Old Series (or First Edition) was based.
