As a fundamental aspect of its education and outreach work, the British Cartographic Society offers a disaster mapping Workshop* based on recent natural disasters to Year 8 to 10 students.
The Society's Restless Earth Program enriches the Geographic skills required at GCSE level through a two-hour workshop, using 7 maps at different scales and of different themes and languages. The students learn to understand the role of humanitarian aid and mapping organisations such as MapAction, Shelter Box and the UN.
BCS provides a specific category of membership for educational establishments, giving them access to our resources at a lower rate of subscription than other Corporate Members.
*Educational Member Workshop fee payable from 2017-18.
