Hatfield House

Hatfield House

A private collection of some 150 maps and architectural drawings from the 16th and early 17th centuries. Maps mostly of places in the British Isles. Collection belonged to William Cecil, 1st Lord Burghley (1520-98), and Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury (1563-1612).

Photocopies of the maps may be consulted in the British Library (Ref. Maps 186.h.1,2).
