Approx. 25,000 sheets. Maps relating to warfare in the 20th century, mostly of the First and Second World Wars. Bulk of collection is of British origin, but also large numbers of American, German, and of other nations. Also maps of non-military origin relation to the operations of war, i.e. privately, or commercially published "war maps" and atlases.
Special collections include the TRENCH MAP COLLECTION (approx. 3,000 maps of allied and enemy trenches in the Great War).

Mon-Sat 1000-1700, except certain public holidays. Closed last two weeks of November.

Access to general public - but must be over 16. Prior appointment is desirable.
