Approx. 6,600 sheets. Manuscript maps and plans, mainly for Sheffield and South Yorkshire, 17th-2Oth centuries. Special collections include the FAIRBANK COLLECTION (surveyors - 1736-1848); and the ARUNDEL CASTLE MSS (among which are over 1,200 maps for Sheffield dated 1699-1820, including 19th century street plans, colliery plans, etc.) Aerial photographs for South Yorkshire.
Publications include a Guide to the Manuscript Collections (1956), Supplement to the Guide (1976) and Guide to the Fairbank Collection.
