The American Museum in Britain

The Dallas Pratt Collection of Historical Maps contains over 200 maps and prints from the Age of Discovery. The collection is divided mainly between early printed world maps and maps relating to the early exploration of the New World, but there are a few manuscript maps, the earliest dating from the twelfth century.

Facilities: About fifty items are on view at a time in the Map Room of the Exhibition Gallery. There is a library containing approximately 350 volumes on renaissance exploration and cartography.

17 March to 28 October, Tuesday to Sunday from noon until 5 pm. Closed Mondays except Bank Holidays and during August.
