About 8,000 sheets and 450 atlases. Fair collection of pre-1800 atlases and early maps of Scotland. Early OS 1:63,360 (England and Scotland) and 1:10,560 (Scotland, with books of reference); current 1:50,000 for Great Britain and 1:10,000 for Scotland. Small scale European and world maps. About 25 cartographic CD-ROM packages and one of 6 libraries receiving large-scale OS digital data as part of the Digimap project.

collections of historical maps including the O’Dell Railway Collection containing railway plans submitted to Parliament and also the map and plan collection of F.A. MacDonald and Partners, engineers and surveyors (incorporating Walker & Duncan, surveyors, Aberdeen). This collections consists of c.5000 items from the late 18th century - mid 20th century (primarily late 19th century) and primarily covers the north east of Scotland.
