Circa 140,000 maps and 600 atlases. Topographical maps of UK at scales 1:10,000 and smaller; West Midlands at 1:2,500 and 1:1,250. Geology, soils, land use, and administrative maps. Historical collection, including OS County Series 1:10,560 and 1:2,500 for Midland counties; early Birmingham street maps.

Rest of world: Western Europe at 1:100,000 or larger; Large collection of D.O.S. sheets of Africa and other former dependencies; many GSGS sheets of WWII vintage.

Teaching collection of Wall Maps.

Aerial photographs, mostly for Falkland Islands and Nigeria. Some England and Scotland.

Collection of gazetteers, books on cartography, guide books, postcode directories and collection of books on local history.
