Over the next few years, the National Library of Scotland has ambitious digital goals, including expanding digitisation as well as the development of new services, applications, and ways of delivering digital content.

This exciting new post will research the ways in which the Library can develop its digital map services and collections to obtain the maximum value, in terms of reputational and financial benefit to the organisation, as well as social and economic benefit to the wider world. It will investigate current and potential audiences for digital mapping, who the major competitors are, examine possible partnerships, and produce a report with recommendations.

The work will involve liaising with key personnel and stakeholders inside the Library, as well as meeting with relevant commercial institutions, creative industries, academia and other relevant sectors outwith the Library.

Job details: Full time (37 hours per week), fixed term for 6 months, salary £27,777, Civil Service Pension.
