It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Ann Sutherland, who died on Monday, 25 June 2018. Ann had been Map Librarian at Edinburgh University Library and was an active member of the Society for almost three decades. She served on Council and was convener of the Map Curators' Group, which she guided for 25 years. As recognition of her contribution to the Society and the world of cartography, Ann was elected as an Honorary Fellow of the BCS in 2013.
Further appreciation of Ann’s life and work will appear in Maplines and The Cartographic Journal later this year.
