Circa 250,000 plates/prints and an unknown number of printed/manuscript maps. The world1s most comprehensive collection of astronomical data and solar sunspot records. Collection dates from 1675.

Terrestrial mapping includes manuscript logs from Cook's second voyage, and early printed maps in, for example, narratives of voyages of discovery.

Houses the AIRY COLLECTION of rare books (astronomy, navigation, etc.).
