Manuscripts and Special Collections

University of Nottingham

Approx. 2,000 items. Mostly maps accumulated by, or commissioned by landed estates as parts of estate surveys, predominantly East Midlands. Prior to 1850 mostly manuscript maps at various scales. Other maps and charts include Canada, India, France, etc., pre-1900. A series of plans from the Trent River Authority and precessors. A large number of post-1850 OS maps, although there is no deliberate acquisition policy.

The Special (Printed Book) Collections also contain some printed maps and atlases.
