Travel and Directions

British Geological Survey, Keyworth, Nottingham – NG12 5GG

There is currently a road closure at Main Road Plumtree. Therefore buses and all vehicles need to remain on the Melton Road A606 and turn right into Platt Lane around half a mile up the road and then first left into Nicker Hill and BGS front gate is on the left.

Due to security restrictions you can only park at British Geological Survey if you have already provided your car details.

The Keyworth is the regular bus from Nottingham railway station to BGS. Click the button for details.

The usual stop (Plumtree Griffin) is currently inaccessible as the road to Plumtree is closed, we suggest you check with the driver – but get off at the stop after Tolerton Post Office.

Informal events in Nottingham

On Wednesday evening at 5.30pm there's a drinks reception and networking event at

Castle Meadow Central in Nottingham City Centre. This event is free and open to everyone.

The guest speaker Dr Gary Priestnall (winner of the BCS Garsdale Design Award 2024) will give a demonstration and speak about his PARM model. Look at the detailed programme for more information.
